Course Name: Intro to Biomedical & Translational Informatics Course Id: 1001
This course will provide a survey of the field of Biomedical Informatics with and emphasis on the growing and emerging field of Translational Informatics. It will cover some of the basic concepts and ideas behind the application of computational and statistical approaches and theories in translational medicine, and provide a survey of some possible application areas. A special focus will be on areas of research underway at Mount Sinai for which there are courses available as well as potential supervisors. The course shall consist of 15 1-hour lectures held twice a week over a period of 8 weeks. The goal is to introduce students to and get them acclimated within the MS in Biomedical Informatics at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai.
Attendance is mandatory and is 50% of the Final Grade.
