Single molecule-level detection of DNA methylation in prokaryotic genomes using SMRT sequencing

Undergrad institution and major: University of Michigan – Aerospace Engineering

What did you do between college and grad school?

I worked for several years in biotech following undergrad, then left that for a couple years to complete my Master’s degree. Upon finishing that program, I returned to the biotech sector for several more years until deciding to get my PhD.

What do you like to do outside of school?

I spend some time working in a community woodworking studio in Gowanus, ride my bike around when the weather permits, and try to go on little trips out of the city as much as possible.
